Mission Dolores

Old, century-old residences are still found on Dolores, Church, and Guerrero Streets along the bright palm tree-lined Dolores street.

Welcome to Mission Dolores

San Francisco's Mission District is one of the city's most essential areas. Old, century-old residences are still found on Dolores, Church, and Guerrero Streets along the bright palm tree-lined Dolores street. The tiny, calm alleyways and cross streets of the Victorian neighborhoods are dotted with miniature Victorian dwellings.

This building is over a hundred years old in San Francisco. Mission Dolores was founded in 1776, and it stands on 16th Street and Dolores, welcoming visitors and worshippers alike. Dolores Park is a beloved neighborhood park about two blocks away and home to the San Francisco Mime Troupe, an informal theatre troupe. The lawn swarms with hot sun worshipers on sunny days. On summer nights, the park is just as full of hipsters as it is of fairgoers enjoying the show.

Once you go along Valencia Street at night, you'll have the experience of your life as an urban planner. Hundreds of people out on the town looking for food, people-watching at the Make-Out Room, and checking out avant-garde dance at Dance Mission. Waiting in line outside of Andalu for a table? You should try Breton-style crepes from Ti Couz instead. Next to Paxton Gate, a boutique filled with intriguing rarities, 826 Valencia provides writing lessons.

Residents of the Mission have easy access to public transit. Two BART stations exist, with the latter being located in between 16th and Mission and 24th and Mission.
